Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi appear to be ramping up their pursuit to buy Tottenham.

Tottenham have been subject to takeover interest over the last few years, but there have been no significant developments with regard to the ownership.

Currently, the ENIC Group own an 86.58% stake in the club, with the rest being held by minority investors.

Despite leaving the club, Daniel Levy and his family retain a 29.88% stake in ENIC.

Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi have north of £3bn in funding ready

According to TEAMtalk, Amanda Staveley and her husband, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, are prepared to proceed with the Spurs takeover.

They have the funding ready to complete the deal, which is understood to be more than £3bn.

Staveley is no longer involved in football ownership as she left her role at Newcastle back in 2024.

Prior to that, she had a 10% stake in 2021, which was later diluted to around 6%.

After nearly two years, they are ready to step back in and have prioritised a move for the Lilywhites.

Tottenham takeover not expected to be easy proposition

However, the deal to buy Spurs is not going be a straightforward one as Joe Lewis’ family are having second thoughts over relinquishing their ownership of the club.

While there has been a broad agreement on the terms of the deal, it is still some way away from actually going ahead.

Staveley’s company, PCP Capital Partners, are waiting for a positive response from the Tottenham owners, but are not putting all their eggs in that basket.

Staveley and Ghodoussi are ready to look at other avenues if the deal does not materialise, so the onus is now on the Lewis family.

The North London outfit remains their priority, however, so they are waiting to see if there are any developments on that front.
