Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga has impressed again on his latest loan spell with Millwall.

A tricky start to life at The Den has now been put behind the 24-year-old as he continues to impress manager Neil Harris.

A failed loan spell in January saw him return to Hotspur Way in January before being sent out for the remainder of the campaign.

Japhet Tanganga impressing at Millwall

Having not played a single minute of football during his time at Augsburg, Japhet Tanganga is getting an opportunity to shine at Millwall.

He has now made eight appearances in the Championship and has even grabbed himself a goal.

After a difficult game against Coventry City, he was dropped for the game against Ipswich Town where Millwall lost 4-0.

He has since played every minute of football since and Harris has sung his praises following their game on Tuesday against Blackburn Rovers.

He said: “I thought he was outstanding again tonight. I thought he was really strong, showed real good leadership along with abilities on the ball.”

Tanganga vs Blackburn

Millwall were forced to settle for a point during the week away at Ewood Park which saw the game end 1-1.

It was a game which Tanganga’s side were forced to play without the lion’s share of the ball with Blackburn domination possession with 69%.

But Tanganga was able to put in a solid shift which helped earn his side a respectable point on the road.

Adding to that the comments from his manager, it seems Tanganga is finally enjoying regular first team action.

However, his future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is certainly up in the air heading into the summer.

The 24-year-old has already spoken about his desire to play under Ange Postecoglou back at Spurs.

But he was never given a look in by the Australian following his arrival in north London over the summer.

Instead, Tanganga was immediately sent out on loan to the Bundesliga where an opportunity also never came.

When he returns to Spurs in the summer, Tanganga will only have one year remaining on his current deal and another would, therefore, seem unlikely.

So a big few months lies ahead of the defender to determine where his future may lie.
