Tottenham Hotspur have high hopes for a number of young talents, many of whom are now out on loan away from North London.

One of the main features of the Ange Postecoglou era has been Tottenham Hotspur’s push to add top young talents.

The likes of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Wilson Odobert are already playing first-team minutes after arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

Tottenham are hoping to develop a host of talents for the future but not everybody can go straight into the first-team picture.

Ashley Phillips and Dane Scarlett have gone out on loan to Stoke City and Oxford United respectively.

Alfie Devine has now joined Westerlo too, joining forces with fellow Spurs talent Luka Vuskovic.

Then there is George Abbott, who has departed on loan to League Two side Notts County for the season.

Notts County fans on George Abbott

Abbott has come up in the Tottenham youth ranks having been born in Islington.

The 19-year-old joined at the age of just seven and has featured for Tottenham in the Under-18 Premier League and Premier League 2.

Abbott has now been sent away to Notts County as he takes the opportunity to play senior football for the first time in his career.

After an eight-minute substitute appearance against Swindon Town last weekend, Abbott made his first Notts County start this weekend.

Abbott played the full 90 minutes as Notts County beat Accrington Stanley 2-0, with the Spurs talent playing as a central midfielder rather than a full back.

Notts County fans have now taken to social media to praise Abbott after a strong full debut performance.

Supporters suggested that Abbott was simply ‘phenomenal’ on Saturday whilst praising him as ‘quality’, ‘excellent’ and ‘outstanding’.

Others predicted a ‘fantastic’ career for Abbott whilst marvelling at ‘what a talent’ the Spurs midfielder is at this stage in his development.

Notts County fans know a good loan signing

Tottenham will need to see Abbott continue this kind of performance over the course of the season but this is an encouraging start.

Notts County will hopefully give Abbott plenty of chances this term and fans certainly know a good loan signing when they see one.

Jack Grealish spent time on loan at Notts County before going on to become a £100million player and a Premier League star.

Celtic captain Callum McGregor also honed his craft at Notts County, turning in impressive displays on his path to becoming a Bhoys hero.

Abbott will have to do well to reach those kind of heights but Notts County fans clearly see promising signs from the Tottenham talent.
