Tottenham Hotspur have had two incredibly talented 18-year-olds in Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray walk through the door at Hotspur Way this summer.

The duo have already heavily featured during pre-season and have shown why Tottenham made such an effort to bring both players to the club.

Lucas Bergvall was signed back in January from Swedish club Djurgardens, with Spurs beating off competition from Barcelona to capture his signature.

Meanwhile, Archie Gray was bought this summer from Leeds United in a deal worth around £40 million.

Despite both being 18, the pair are expected to play big roles under Ange Postecoglou this season with Spurs set to feature in four competitions.

As the two new Spurs recruits get closer to making their competitive debuts for the club, they have both revealed which positions they most want to play.

Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray reveal their best positions

Bergvall and Gray were both asked which position they most enjoy playing and the Tottenham duo unsurprisingly gave similar answers.

Bergvall told Tottenham Hotspur’s official Reddit channel: “I prefer to play to play as an eight, I would say. A box-to-box player, to have the ball at my feet, but can still go forward and help the team to score.”

Gray had a similar answer to his new teammate: “I’d say the exact same. Probably number eight but anywhere in midfield, but also anywhere, right-back, left-back,” said the former Leeds man.

Last season at Elland Road, Gray played several matches as a right-back and presents himself as a versatile option for Postecoglou’s squad.

Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray form Tottenham’s new youthful core

Tottenham are building a special team for the future with Bergvall and Gray set to be at the core of this project.

Spurs are expected to sign 18-year-old winger Min-Hyuk Yang who has the potential to become one of the K-League’s best-ever exports.

Tottenham’s academy are also producing some exciting young talents with Mikey Moore, Will Lankshear and Tyrese Hall the pick of the bunch.

These youngsters could all be given big opportunities this season with the North London club back in the Europa League.
