Tottenham managed to get a few players over the line ahead of the transfer deadline.
Conor Gallagher signed for Atletico Madrid whilst Souza checked in from Brazil with one eye firmly on the future.
On Transfer Deadline Day, Tottenham beat Arsenal to the signing of James Wilson from Hearts and the hope will be that he can make an impact in the future.
One thing that Spurs didn’t manage to get was a stellar signing over the line, however, and Jamie Redknapp has now made an intriguing claim.

Jamie Redknapp thinks Tottenham offered Antoine Semenyo a deal
The transfer of Semenyo from Bournemouth to Manchester City was one of the biggest, coming in at £64 million.
However, Redknapp believes that Spurs made an offer to sign Semenyo, but they lowballed him in terms of wages.
He said on Sky Sports News: “Antoine Semenyo, I think they offered him an incredible package to sign, but I just don’t think he wanted to go to Tottenham, he wanted to go to Manchester City.
“But at least that tells you that this ownership are now going to start to offer players bigger wages. The reason why Tottenham haven’t got the best players over the last few years is actually really simple. They offer low wages.
“I’m yet to meet anybody that’s happy being underpaid. So if you’re going to go to Tottenham and you’re going to go there and you can get one offer from one club, which is a vast amount more than go to Tottenham, you’re not going to sign for Spurs. It’s as simple as that.”
Semenyo would have been quality Tottenham signing
The versatile forward is already proving a brilliant signing for City and once again, Spurs might be left wondering what might have been.
Once again, Tottenham didn’t get serious with a top player and allowed a bigger club to steal a march and get their hands on one of the best forwards in the country.
Fill in the blank: If Tottenham only sign James Wilson deadline day I will feel _________
This is quite a claim from Redknapp, and ultimately, this is another sad indictment of the club’s hierarchy that Semenyo ultimately escaped their grasp.
Tottenham once again have a group of players constantly injured, and even if Semenyo wasn’t available, the club should have had a contingency plan in place.
