Jamie Carragher think the former and on-loan Tottenham Hotspur players Harry Kane and Eric Dier could potentially be set to see Thomas Tuchel sacked.

It has been a bizarre couple of games for the German giants who are seeing their hopes of silverware begin to fade away this season.

This all comes following the arrival of Harry Kane in the summer and Eric Dier’s loan deal last month.

Thomas Tuchel could get Bayern sack

Wednesday night provided Bayern Munich with the opportunity to hit back following a crushing 3-0 defeat against their title rivals in the Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen.

However, what unfolded in the Champions League was nothing short of a disaster with the German champions heading back to Munich trailing the tie by a goal deficit.

Speaking on CBS Sport’s coverage of the Champions League, Carragher has given his thoughts on Tuchel’s future with the club: “I think it’s touch and go. I’m a huge Thomas Tuchel fan. I thought he was fantastic in the Premier League for Chelsea – a Champions League winner with Chelsea. So, you know, he excels in this competition more often than not.

“Great in the group stages, but on the back of what has happened in the Bundesliga, if they don’t go through against Lazio… I think he will be there for the second leg, but I think if they don’t go through there it might be tough for him to continue in the job between now and the end of the season.”

Kane’s Bayern nightmare

Although it is difficult to pick much fault in Kane’s individual performances on the whole, it is apparent some have been left less than impressed by his displays of late.

His showing on Wednesday night against Lazio also did not shine positively on the England captain.

And something which may amuse Tottenham fans is that Tuchel had reportedly snubbed a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in favour of the job at Bayern.

Instead, we find ourselves playing some of the best football we have seen in years under the guidance of Ange Postecoglou.

Of course, a lot can still change before the end of the season, however, it is slightly ironic to see the events unfolding in Munich after the reasoning behind Kane’s exit in the summer.
