Mikey Moore is in line to make his first senior start against Ferencvarosi on October 3 as Tottenham Hotspur play their second Europa League match.

Injuries to Heung-min Son and Wilson Odobert mean there is a clear path for the 17-year-old to start in the left-wing spot in Hungary.

Moore will be hopeful of taking Timo Werner’s spot in the line-up after the German disappointed at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, the teenager looked impressive in his 15-minute cameo against Manchester United.

Ahead of the Europa League clash, James Maddison has been talking about the jewel of Spurs’ academy and has explained what he has noticed about him in training.

James Maddison can’t believe Mikey Moore is only 17

Maddison has revealed that he has been blown away by Moore’s ability in training and how powerful he is, despite only being 17.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Ferencvarosi, Maddison said: “Mikey, I have to sometimes pinch myself and remember how young he is. He’s 17 and came into the group when he was 16. He’s a man already.

“When I watch him play, he’s very powerful and only going to get stronger as his body grows. He’s a great kid. A really well-mannered, polite young man and that’s a credit to his parents.

“That’s the first thing you look to as a senior player. And then there’s that ability which we see in training all the time and the fans will want to see in games.”

The Tottenham vice-captain has also said he is ready to give him advice whenever he needs it. “I try to think of what the 17-year-old James Maddison would want to hear from a senior player and it’s to be treated like a man but also give advice whenever possible,” Maddison added.

How could Tottenham line-up vs Ferencvarosi with Mikey Moore

Ange Postecoglou is expected to name a youthful line-up in Hungary with Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray set to start alongside Moore.

Gray is set to start in defence with Destiny Udogie having not made the trip, Radu Dragusin is suspended and Postecoglou keen to rest Micky van de Ven. The 18-year-old may start at left-back with Ben Davies in centre-back.

Cristian Romero could partner Davies and replace Dragusin who was shown a straight red card against Qarabag.

Tottenham predicted line-up vs Ferencvarosi: Vicario; Udogie, Davies, Romero, Gray; Bissouma, Sarr, Bergvall; Moore, Johnson, Solanke.
