Destiny Udogie has claimed that one of his Tottenham Hotspur teammates is enjoying an ‘incredible’ season.

It was a tale of two halves once again yesterday as Tottenham headed into the break 1-0 down against Luton Town.

Ange Postecoglou’s side fell behind inside three minutes as Tahith Chong opened the scoring with an exceptional finish.

After missing a couple of chances in the opening period, Spurs stepped things up in the second half as the introduction of Brennan Johnson changed the game.

Issa Kabore turned the ball into his own net after the Welshman’s exceptional delivery across the six-yard box in the 51st minute.

The 22-year-old then set up Heung-min Son in the 86th minute to hand Spurs a vital 2-1 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Despite the Lilywhites dominating for large periods of the game, Guglielmo Vicario was called into action on a couple of occasions and stood up to the task.

And Destiny Udogie has singled out his compatriot for praise after the goalkeeper also made his debut for Italy last week.

Udogie lauds ‘incredible’ Vicario

Speaking to Tottenham’s media team after yesterday’s win, Udogie was asked about Vicario’s recent international debut, as well as his display against Luton.

“I’m really happy for him because I think he deserves it [Italy debut]. He has done an incredible season so far so he deserves it and today he showed us again we can trust him and I think he’s an incredible player,” the full-back said.

Vicario praised after Tottenham vs Luton

Vicario was helpless to prevent Chong’s early opener but the Italian dealt with everything that came his way thereafter.

He made two smart stops to deny Ross Barkley and Jordan Clarke after Spurs had levelled the game up yesterday.

The £17 million man continues to impress between the sticks and has been key to Postecoglou’s encouraging debut campaign.

Replacing Hugo Lloris was widely viewed as a difficult task after the Frenchman enjoyed a brilliant spell in north London. But since making the switch to England, Vicario has taken everything in his stride and has quickly become a dependable performer at Spurs.
