Tottenham Hotspur may have had their ups and down this season but there’s no doubt as to what Ange Postecoglou is trying to do at N17.
On their day, Spurs are unstoppable. Their 4-0 win at Manchester City sent shockwaves across the Premier League, and they also hammered Manchester United and Aston Villa earlier this season.
Though Tottenham are lacking consistency, the next few transfer windows will hopefully see Postecoglou improve his side’s strength in depth to counter this.
Another thing the Spurs manager is trying to do is build on the work the club has done in signing exciting young players who can develop into first-team stars.
Tottenham have made a name for themselves in recent years when it comes to signing top talents.
The likes of Destiny Udogie, Pape Matar Sarr, Djed Spence, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray have all joined over the past few years.
Now, Udogie has spoken highly about one of Spurs’ young signings who he has become close friends with, calling him “incredible”.

Destiny Udogie praises ‘incredible’ Tottenham teammate Djed Spence
The player in question is Djed Spence, who has worked incredibly hard to prove himself to the Tottenham boss in recent months.
Spence initially struggled to make an impact at Spurs since joining from Middlesbrough back in 2022.
Prior to this season, he made just six appearances for Spurs and has been shipped out on loan three times while on the Lilywhites’ books.
However, Spence worked hard in pre-season and forced his way into Postecoglou’s plans.
And even though Spence didn’t make the cut in Tottenham’s Europa League squad, the Spurs boss stressed this was due to their difficult ‘club-trained’ player situation.
Indeed, Spence’s efforts saw him rewarded with a new contract at Tottenham, with fans praising both the player and the club for the decision.
Udogie, speaking to football.london ahead of Spurs’ Europa League meeting with Roma, was asked what he thought of Spence.
Obviously I think Djed is an incredible player,” said Udogie. “We’re really close friends, we speak a lot and try to help each other in the game.
“As everyone in the group, you have to help and I hope he can help us as much [as he can].”
The rating Alasdair Gold has given Spence for his efforts so far this season
Gold, writing on football.london during the international break, awarded Spence a rating of 7 out of 10 for how he has done this term.
‘It started off as a positive reintroduction to life at Spurs for Spence and he should have got more game time,’ wrote Gold.
‘We won’t even talk yet about him being left out of the Europa League squad which still makes little sense.
‘He changed the game at Coventry, scoring a good goal, and was excellent in replacing Udogie at United amid another couple of positive cameos from the bench.
‘He got a new contract but a groin injury interrupted his chances and while he’s now back, he hasn’t played since.
‘However, on the whole it’s a world away from where he was at Spurs before this season began so that’s reflected in his score.’
