Tottenham Hotspur youngster Jamie Donley has now been likened to James Maddison following another impressive display for the U21s.
Ange Postecoglou’s options are growing from the Tottenham academy as Wayne Burnett’s U21s continue to show the serious talent being produced at Hotspur Way.
And it seems as if one player, in particular, is catching the eye in the U21s side with a recent display in front of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium crowd.

Jamie Donley likened to James Maddison
The Tottenham U21s were rewarded with the opportunity to play in N17 on the weekend against Fleetwood Town and it is fair to say the players took their chances.
Spurs won in emphatic fashion with Donley providing one of the performances of the game as the 19-year-old provided a sensational four assists.
Speaking on The View From The Lane podcast, journalist Charlie Eccleshare has suggested the forward holds similar qualities to that of current Spurs player James Maddison: ‘Everyone speaks about his versatility, as well,’ he said.
‘So I think [Julian] Alvarez is an interesting comparison because I’ve been told he can play as a ten, as an eight, almost a right-winger. I’ve been told he played one game for the academy last season as a centre-back. Like he technically is outstanding and, from what I’m told, he’s got that kind of aura, that confidence, you know not arrogance, but that thing that the best players have of ‘I know I’m really good and I’m going to show it’. A bit like James Maddison and there maybe some similarities between those too as well.’

Postecoglou’s opportunities for Donley
Donley is one of the players from the U21s side that has actually been offered some game time under Postecoglou this season.
The performances of the first team have left it extremely difficult for the Australian to bring in some of the young prospects so far.
However, Donley has been able to make three cameo displays from the bench in the Premier League.
As well as his stunning display on the weekend in the Premier League Cup, Donley has been able to provide four goals and nine assists in the Premier League 2.
But it was his display on Saturday which really caught the eye as he and Will Lankshear’s partnership drew comparisons to that of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.
It may work against Donley that there is still a lot to play for this season at Spurs, but his performances may be making it difficult for Postecoglou to ignore as Maddison struggles to rediscover his best form.
