Tottenham Hotspur’s January signing Timo Werner has admitted he is excited to face his former side Chelsea later in the season.
The German forward made the move from RB Leipzig last month on an initial loan with the option to make permanent in the summer.
And it seems he has already marked out one game, in particular, which he is keen to make a mark on as a Spurs player.

Werner excited for Chelsea clash
Since making the move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Timo Werner has been filling in for the absent Heung-min Son who was playing in the Asian Cup.
The Spurs captain has now returned, but Werner was able to keep his place in Ange Postecoglou’s starting XI for the game against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Although the 27-year-old is just weeks into his time at Spurs, he has told Sky Sports that there is one game which he already has his eye on: “Of course, I know that Chelsea and Tottenham – when I was at Chelsea it was the biggest game – so I’m looking forward to playing on the other side in this game,” he said.
Werner may be looking forward to this game, but an official date is yet to be confirmed due to Chelsea’s game in the Carabao Cup final.

Werner expected to sign permanently
It may just be a month since Werner landed at Hotspur Way, however, there is already the belief that Spurs will make his stay permanent in the summer.
The option in his contract to become a permanent Tottenham player is said to be worth in the region of £15m and one which Spurs will likely take up.
In a Spurs shirt, the 27-year-old has been able to provide two assists over the course of his five appearances.
However, it is extremely difficult to imagine him being picked ahead of Son now the South Korean has had time to settle back into life in England.
But as a squad player who could come off the bench and provide the Spurs attack with some pace against weary legs, he could come into his own.
Whether or not that would appeal to Werner may be a different question, but one thing we are sure of, it would be great to see him find the back of the net against his former side.
