Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has been tipped to drop Dejan Kulusevski for Timo Werner by Paul Merson.

We take on Wolves on Saturday and the Australian manager has an almost-fully fit attacking line to choose from for the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And with a potential selection headache, Merson has claimed Dejan Kulusevski could be dropped for the blisteringly quick Timo Werner.

Kulusevski to be dropped for Werner

Ange Postecoglou’s side have the opportunity to maintain their spot in the top four – regardless of results elsewhere – with three points on Saturday.

The win over Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend was left until the dying minutes of stoppage time before Brennan Johnson sealed the points.

However, Merson can see neither Johnson or Kulusevski starting now Heung-min Son is back and Postecoglou has the German winger at his disposal.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Merson said: ‘I could be wrong, but I think Dejan Kulusevski will be the one to make way, with Timo Werner and Richarlison playing alongside the South Korean in attack.

Kulusevski is a fantastic player and I’m a big fan of him, but Werner’s pace and ability to run in behind defenders could open up a lot of space for James Maddison to exploit.’

Injury concerns for Postecoglou

Although Postecoglou may have nearly all of his options to choose from in attack for Saturday, the same may not be the case at the back.

The club held an open training session on Thursday in N17 and there were two notable absentees from the on-field action.

Both Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro were spotted missing from the training session at the stadium.

This could cause a real issue for Postecoglou’s attacking style of play with the two full-backs both known for their ability to create in the final third.

Their likely replacements would be Emerson Royal and Ben Davies, who although solid defensive players, do not quite provide the same attacking prowess.

If Porro and Udogie are to miss the game on Saturday, Postecoglou will need his absolute best players on the wings to provide that much-needed attacking threat.
