After Destiny Udogie another ‘very important’ Tottenham defender was also missing from training today

Tottenham Hotspur took to the pitch in north London on Thursday with an opening training session at the stadium, but were without Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro.

This comes just days before our next match which comes at home to Wolves who provide stern opposition as we have already found out this season.

We go into the game already in the top four, but with Aston Villa and Manchester United both in pursuit, three points feels huge ahead of Saturday.

Pedro Porro an injury concern

Pedro Porro was able to complete the full 90 minutes on the weekend against the Seagulls, so his absence is a surprise.

Training at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was live streamed on the club’s YouTube channel for fans to watch and for all to see the absent players.

Being without Porro on the weekend would be a huge blow for Ange Postecoglou given the right-back has been in such fine form this term.

One goal and eight assists across all competitions has saw the 24-year-old earn some high praise from his teammates with Dejan Kulusevski calling him ‘very important‘.

Tottenham could be without Udogie and Porro

Destiny Udogie was withdrawn from the game on the weekend after being seen to have pulled up which saw Ben Davies take his place.

So perhaps the Italian’s omission from training was expected, especially considering he was missing from Wednesday’s training footage from Hotspur Way.

Missing either of these players would be a huge blow ahead of the weekend, but losing both could completely change the dynamic of Postecoglou’s approach.

The pair of fast, attacking full-backs who have provided us with a lot of goal contributions this season.

Their replacements, Emerson Royal and Davies, are both solid defenders but perhaps not as dangerous in attack.

But we are not the only side with injury concerns ahead of the weekend as Gary O’Neil will be without his top goalscorer, Matheus Cunha.
