How Kenan Yildiz’s Juventus loyalty now forces Igor Tudor to rethink his Tottenham attack

Tottenham Hotspur announced the appointment of Igor Tudor at the weekend and perhaps now the club should have tried harder to sign one international player in January.

Tottenham didn’t do much in the January transfer window. Conor Gallagher signed from Atletico Madrid, Souza joined as a backup left-back option, whilst Tottenham beat Arsenal to the signing of James Wilson.

Brennan Johnson signed for Crystal Palace during the transfer window and that move perhaps looks more peculiar given that no attacking flair came to North London to replace him.

With Tudor now taking over at the football club, Spurs might be wishing they’d done more to sign one attacker during the last transfer window.

Tottenham target Kenan Yildiz is one of Igor Tudor’s favourite players

It was claimed earlier this month by Team Talk that Yildiz was wanted by Tottenham, although Juventus stood firm on the availability of the player.

The 20-year-old was in the sights of Spurs but talks dragged on with the Old Lady, making the Premier League club believe that Tottenham didn’t really want to sell.

At that point the club might have presumed that Thomas Frank would turn things around and if Tudor had been at the club he might have actually pushed harder for the forward.

It’s thought that Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have shown interest in the youngster previously and it remains to be seen whether a future move to the Premier League will be forthcoming.

Yildiz has scored nine goals and claimed eight assists this season from 33 appearances with Juventus doing well in Serie A.

Tudor got a tune out of Yildiz

The 26-time international was ridiculously good during his time playing under Tudor at Juventus and he might be gutted he hasn’t got him to call upon at Spurs.

The versatile forward who typically plays as a number 10 scored eight goals and claimed eight assists from 22 games under Tudor and clearly he enjoyed his football under the Croatian boss.

Yildiz will perhaps be a target for the summer should Tudor stick around, with the club likely to back any manager in the next window providing Tottenham remain in the Premier League.

This season has been nothing short of a nightmare for Tottenham and now Tudor needs to hit the ground running without the help of Yildiz.
