Heung-min Son has admitted he has one final aim to tick off with Tottenham following his move to Los Angeles FC.

The South Korea superstar will go down as a Spurs legend after 10 years of service, ending in wearing the captain’s armband as the club lifted their first trophy since 2008 when they won the Europa League last term.

Son described his final game for the club – a pre-season 1-1 draw with Newcastle in South Korea this summer – as the ‘perfect’ farewell.

Thomas Frank is now at the helm in north London, and there is a new face of Tottenham after Son’s departure. However, the forward says he has one more Spurs-related wish he’s hoping can come true.

Heung-min Son wants to go to Tottenham again

Speaking to South Korean outlet W Magazine after being put on the cover of the October edition, Son said: “Tottenham holds the most memories for me.

“Over the past 10 years, many joyful and happy moments have passed by. It was a complex feeling that’s difficult to express in words, but I wanted to leave only joyful and happy memories for my team and teammates.

“I don’t know if there will be an opportunity, but I personally hope to have the opportunity to say goodbye at Hotspur Stadium.”

Son’s last game at Tottenham’s home came in the form of a pre-season friendly against League One Wycombe Wanderers, but this was before he confirmed he would be leaving the club, so he is clearly craving an official goodbye in north London.

How is Heung-min Son getting on at Los Angeles FC?

At the start of August, Son announced he would be leaving Tottenham, signing for Los Angeles FC in a record-breaking deal for Major League Soccer, joining in a deal worth approximately £20 million.

He has got off to a flying start in America, with LAFC currently sitting fourth in the MLS Western Conference.

Son has scored six goals in seven games for his new club – including a hat-trick against Salt Lake – as well as grabbing three assists

The 33-year-old is contracted with the MLS club until December 2027.
