Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has recently announced the removal of senior concessions for next term’s season tickets.

The decision has received a lot of backlash from Tottenham fans and the media.

However, not everyone has disagreed with Levy as TalkSPORT’s Simon Jordan has jumped to his defence.

What Simon Jordan said about Daniel Levy’s decision

A couple of weeks have now passed since Spurs made the decision and it is still a hot topic of discussion.

It’s a decision which has come at a time of economic struggle for the large majority of people in the country.

With football a means of escapism for many, the decision could well price some out of attending football matches.

The former Crystal Palace owner has been speaking on TalkSPORT about the decision made by Spurs just a couple of weeks ago.

And the 26-year-old has suggested he would have probably done the same if he was in Levy’s shoes. He said: “If I’m the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, and I’ve got more demand than I can cater for, and I’m seeing a 30% increase in concessions, and I realised that’s going to cost me tens of millions of pounds. Yes, I would [have done the same.”

To which Jim White replied: “You heartless owner!”

What Spurs fans did vs Fulham in protest of the concession scrap

It is a decision which did not go down well with the Tottenham fans as many took to social media to share their frustration with the board.

And the frustration did not end on social media as some of the traveling fans on the weekend shared their anger.

The Tottenham Hotspur Supporter’s Trust has even written to the Premier League asking for them to intervene.

Journalist Alasdair Gold revealed there was a banner saying, ‘Save Our Seniors’ spotted in the away end at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

However, the likelihood of seeing Spurs fold on their decision feels incredibly unlikely.

The club have provided reasoning for their decision to increase the prices and it is something which is now being seen across the league.

Prior to Tottenham’s announcement, their local rivals, Arsenal, also revealed next season’s ticket prices would be increasing.

And in recent days, Manchester City have followed suit after announcing they would increase their season tickets by five per cent.

It is a real shame that some fans are likely going to be priced out of attending matches, but it is a decision which is likely to stick ahead of the new season.
