Tottenham Hotspur got back to winning ways in style on Saturday as they ran out 4-1 winners over West Ham United.
Spurs aren’t quite the finished product yet and continue to leak too many goals, but they ultimately made light work of the Hammers at N17 despite conceding first.
Mohammed Kudus opened the scoring for the visitors in the 16th minute, but in-form Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski levelled before the break.
Yves Bissouma then netted early on in the second half, which opened the floodgates for Spurs against a hapless West Ham outfit.
A Jean-Clair Todibo deflection came off Alphonse Areola for Tottenham’s third goal, and Son Heung-min rounded off the scoring on the hour.
Although Dominic Solanke didn’t get on the scoresheet for Spurs, he gave a great account of himself with some superb link-up play and relentless pressing.
The £65million man has done well since his move from Bournemouth this summer and he’ll be expected to really grow into the role at Tottenham.
Harry Redknapp has now been asked whether he feels Solanke can fill Harry Kane’s shoes at N17.

Harry Redknapp deems Dominic Solanke a ‘good player’
Redknapp, speaking on talkSPORT (22/10/2024, 9:23am), said he believes Solanke is certainly a good player who improved at Bournemouth, but he feels Kane is in a class of his own.
“Well, I think he is a good player,” Redknapp said of Kane.
“I liked him at Bournemouth. He improved and his movement was good and he scored the goals there last year, it was his best year.
“But Harry Kane is a level apart from anybody. He is fantastic. What an all-round player he is, you know.”
Comparing Harry Kane and Dominic Solanke is difficult
Kane is certainly one of those players who come along once in a generation at any given club, and Spurs were blessed by his service for the club.
He’d be an incredibly difficult player to replace for any club, and it’s not as though anybody will expect any replacement to reach those same levels, at least not immediately.
However, Solanke is a superb player with a proven record in the Premier League who offers a lot to Spurs beyond goalscoring, as he has already shown in his first few months at N17.
And crucially, he’s the kind of player who works incredibly hard, is a keen learner, and will no doubt get even better in the coming months and years.
