Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has hailed left-back Destiny Udogie following the game against Aston Villa.

Three massive points were taken back to north London on Sunday after Spurs completed a mauling on Unai Emery’s side.

Ange Postecoglou will be one very happy man this Monday after that result with his players putting in a huge display at Villa Park.

Vicario wowed by Udogie

Tottenham have had their difficulties defensively coming into this game against their top four rivals.

Guglielmo Vicario had only been able to boast one clean sheet in his last 17 Premier League games prior to Sunday.

Yet, against an impressive Villa side, Spurs were able to keep their first clean sheet since the middle of December.

And it was apparent the 27-year-old was putting a lot of the praise on his defence as he took to Udogie’s Instagram post to hail Destiny Udogie. ‘Bravo little monster,’ Vicario said.

Destiny Udogie stats vs Aston Villa

Just a few weeks back, the Italian was forced to miss the game against Wolves due to injury – a game Spurs went on to lose.

However, he has now made his return to the side and Spurs have made their return to winning ways.

On Sunday against Villa, Udogie put on a show which saw Villa captain John McGinn lose his head and kick out at the Italian.

For a 21-year-old, Udogie has quickly become a huge part of Postecoglou’s side with the left-back having already played over 2100 minutes this season.

He has been able to provide Spurs with two goals and three assists in the Premier League as he’s offered Spurs a real threat down the left.

And perhaps his presence on the left has allowed Heung-min Son a bit more freedom to roam inside. The South Korean is showing some of his best ever form this season.

But one thing which is apparent is his teammates are loving having Udogie in the side after joining up with Spurs finally in the summer.
