Tottenham’s disappointing form this season has left many supporters reflecting on the golden days under Mauricio Pochettino.
With Hugo Lloris in goal, a backline consisting of some of Europe’s best defenders, Cristian Eriksen and Moussa Dembele pulling the strings in midfield, and of course, the dangerous duo of Harry Kane and Dele Alli up top – Tottenham were blessed with some truly great players during Pochettino’s reign as manager.
Sadly for Spurs fans, all of these players have now moved on from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the last existing member of that squad exiting N17 back in January.
That was, of course, Eric Dier – who departed Spurs for Bayern Munich after ten years and 365 appearances for the Lilywhites.
Ten months on from Dier’s exit though, the Englishman could soon now be without a club following Vincent Kompany’s latest decision.

Eric Dier could leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season
The 30-year-old’s Spurs departure in January 2024 seemed like a long time coming, with Dier even admitting that he was ‘absolutely’ desperate to leave Tottenham after ten seasons at the club.
In what was described as a ‘dream move’ for Dier – via SkySports – the English international joined up with Harry Kane at Bavarian giants Bayern Munich.
The former Spurs man had an impressive start to life in Germany, with Thomas Thuchel labelling Dier as an ‘excellent signing’.
Dier’s fortunes in Munich though have since dwindled since Kompany replaced Tuchel as Bayern boss.
The defender’s stay in Germany though could now be cut short following news that the German giants are unlikely to renew Dier’s contract come the end of the season – according to Florian Plettenberg.
Vincent Kompany prioritising Dayot Upamecano contract over Dier future
This news may come as a surprise to some fans, following the Englishman’s bright start in Germany.
Ally McCoist said Dier played ‘excellent’ last season, as Bayern overcame Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-final.
Since then, however, Dier’s hopes of becoming a regular in Munich have slowly faded away following the appointment of Kompany.

The Belgian boss has opted to play the likes of former Tottenham target Kim Min-jae ahead of Dier, with Kompany also said to be prioritising Dayot Upamencano’s future – according to SkySports Germany.
With Dier’s deal set to expire at the end of the season, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the ex-Spurs man on English shores come the summer.
