When it comes to striker partnerships, Tottenham have undoubtedly had some truly iconic pairings throughout history.
Whether it be Teddy Sheringham and Jurgen Klinsmann or Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe, Spurs have been truly blessed in the striker department over the years.
More recently we have seen teams move away from the classic 4-4-2 of yesteryear, with many now adopting a more fluid frontline – which has in turn given birth to Harry Kane and Heung-min Son’s record-breaking partnership.
But when it comes to ranking Tottenham’s best-ever forward partnerships, former Spurs man Kyle Walker believes there is one unlikely duo that tops them all.

Kyle Walker names Emmanuel Adebayor and Louis Saha partnership as the best he’s seen
When creating a list of the best strike partnerships, I think no one in their right mind would have Emmanuel Adebayor and Louis Saha at the top of their list.
Well, Kyle Walker does – and ultimately who could argue with the six-time Premier League winner?
Despite having played with the likes of Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero, and more recently Erling Haaland – Walker insists on having Adebayor and Saha top of the strike partnership charts.
Whilst appearing on his podcast ‘You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker’, the Man City full-back said:
“Emmanuel Adebayor. He was completely out of the picture but then as soon as AVB left, Tim came in, gave him a hug and all of a sudden Adebayor is back playing football at the best he can.
“I remember him playing a game, him and Saha at White Hart Lane against Newcastle. I think it was 4-0 at half-time. It was the best partnership I’ve seen in my career. It was unbelievable, everything they did together, they just knew where each other was gonna be.”
Adebayor and Saha’s Tottenham stats
Despite only playing a single season together at Tottenham, the pair would strike up an unlikely partnership during the 2011/12 season.
With the likes of Defoe, Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko already in the squad – Adebayor and Saha would not play that much together, but when they did, they would provide the goods.
| Emmanuel Adebayor and Louis Saha’s record (11/12 season) | |
| Minutes playing together | 213 |
| Points per game | 1.40 |
| Total goals | 12 |
| Goals scored by either Adebayor or Saha | 4 |
3 goals by Louis Saha assisted by Emmanuel Adebayor**
Stats from Transfermarkt
When it comes to reflecting on Adebayor and Saha’s unlikely partnership, it would be safe to say it doesn’t rank at the top in Spurs history but it well and truly earns its place in Tottenham’s top ‘Barclaysman’ list.
