Jan Oblak is set to miss the second leg of Tottenham Hotspur versus Atletico Madrid in the Champions League due to injury.
The goalkeeper has been suffering from an issue which saw him miss Atleti’s win against Getafe over the weekend, and he will not travel to London.
🔮 Can Tottenham come back from 5-2 down vs Atletico Madrid if Jan Oblak is missing?
Tottenham Hotspur have a mountain to climb in the second leg following their 5-2 thrashing at the Metropolitano.
But with such a key player like Oblak now unavailable, it certainly gives Igor Tudor’s team a glimmer of hope for the game on Wednesday.
Jan Oblak ruled out of Tottenham vs Atletico Madrid
Jan Oblak has been ruled out of Tottenham versus Atletico Madrid in the Champions League with a hip injury, according to Marca.
Diego Simeone’s team were without the goalkeeper at the weekend, but still won 1-0 at home to Getafe, with Juan Musso taking his place.
The Argentine goalkeeper is now set to keep his place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to make just his ninth appearance of the season.
Musso has kept five clean sheets in his eight matches for the club this season and looks to be an able deputy to the Slovenian shot-stopper.
Oblak had a mixed game in the first leg as he gifted Dominic Solanke Tottenham’s second goal, but he also managed three big saves during the match.
AGREE or DISAGREE: Tottenham should sell Micky van de Ven this summer after his performance vs Atletico Madrid?
Tottenham will have built a bit of confidence from their 1-1 draw at Anfield as Richarlison rescued a point late on for Igor Tudor’s team.
Spurs ended their shocking run of seven defeats in all competitions to hold Liverpool at Anfield and will now be looking to build on that with a result against Atletico.
Micky van de Ven to return, but Cristian Romero and Joao Palhinha remain sidelined
For Tottenham, Micky van de Ven will be available after being suspended against Liverpool, but Cristian Romero and Joao Palhinha remain sidelined.
Romero and Palhinha clashed heads in the first leg, which means that due to concussion protocols, they will miss ten days of action.

Bringing Van de Ven back into the team could be a controversial call from Tudor, given his recent performances, but he doesn’t really have much choice.
Kevin Danso and Radu Dragusin impressed against Liverpool, although the latter will likely drop out of the team, with the Dutch defender replacing him.
