The Brazilian has now scored nine times for the North London club this season, but his strike at Anfield is quite possibly his biggest so far.

After the match, he spoke about his desire to remain fit, given his injury struggles in the past and his importance to the team.

Richarlison just wants to stay fit for Tottenham

Richarlison claims that he loves playing against big clubs like Liverpool and also spoke of his desire to remain fit for the rest of the season.

The Brazilian striker has a big motivation to finish the season strong to keep Tottenham in the Premier League and earn a spot in Carlo Ancelotti’s World Cup squad.

When asked why he loves scoring against Liverpool, he told Sky Sports: “I like to play against big teams, it’s a big opportunity for me.

“I want to stay fit for the club and the national team, because we have a World Cup in June. I need to stay fit because the club needs me to stay fit.”

The 28-year-old is going to be an important player in the club’s bid for survival, having been in this position with Everton and dragged them to safety.

“In the first half, I missed two chances, but in the second half I had the opportunity again, and I scored,” added the striker.

“We have an important game in the Champions League [on Wednesday], and the main focus is the Premier League.”

Jamie Redknapp hails Richarlison and Dominic Solanke’s partnership

Jamie Redknapp believes that Richarlison and Dominic Solanke’s partnership could help to keep Spurs in the Premier League.

The former Spurs midfielder claims that the pair caused Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez all sorts of problems at Anfield.

When asked whether Richarlison was Tottenham’s star man, he told Sky Sports: “Absolutely, Kelly. You know, all game, he was a thorn in their side.

“Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk really struggled with him. He had a bit of physicality, but what we’ve seen today is that they found they might have fallen on a system here with two strikers.

“You can see with Solanke there at the back post with Richarlison, they’re a handful. They’ve got physicality. They were powerful.”
