Tottenham Hotspur will be eager to get back to winning ways this weekend after going into yet another international break on the back of a disappointing defeat.
Spurs have certainly shown they can beat anyone quite convincingly on their day, as they did at Manchester United and against Aston Villa.
However, Tottenham have also lost a number of games against teams they were favourites to beat, such as Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town.
Questions have been asked of Ange Postecoglou’s style of play at Tottenham, with Alan Shearer recently saying Spurs are lacking consistency.
Now, David Pleat has shared what Spurs need to be mindful of under Postecoglou that risks posing a “great danger” further down the line.

David Pleat says Tottenham are at risk of being sussed out by opponents
Pleat, speaking on Last Word on Spurs, believes Tottenham’s football is currently “risk-and-reward” and there’s a risk that opposition teams will suss Spurs out.
“It’s difficult unfortunately,” began Pleat. “At this moment we’re about halfway in the league, we’ve lost Kane, who scored a lot of goals for us, and we’re kind of experimenting with a new style.
“That’s important, you know, the importance of this risk-and-reward football where we play a high line and rely on Van de Ven’s pace and we play the full-backs high up the field.
“There’s a great danger that clubs will, as time goes on, learn more about us if we continue to play the same way and maybe learn how to get the midfield runner running late to get through us.
“It’s difficult – can we score more goals? Have we got midfield players that score goals? Have we got the right-back? There are so many imponderables and it’s so difficult to say.
“All we know is we all wish Ange the best of luck because we’ve proved in the last, however long we’ve been talking, it’s not an easy job.”
The players’ role in Tottenham issues
Premier League and Australia legend Mark Schwarzer recently claimed that it’s a case of the Tottenham players letting Postecoglou down at present, rather than the other way round.
Schwarzer also claimed that Spurs simply don’t have the defensive discipline and the strength in depth to play the way Postecoglou wants all the time.
The former goalkeeper also said Tottenham manager “just isn’t going to compromise” on his style of play.
Spurs are certainly showing signs of progress with regards to the big picture, but the question is, will Postecoglou be given time to develop his squad?
Rebuilding jobs are never plain sailing – we’ve seen how long it took Jurgen Klopp to turn Liverpool into an all-conquering outfit.
