Tottenham Hotspur vice-captain Cristian Romero has now issued a message to the fans after Tuesday’s defeat.
Ange Postecoglou‘s men now have just one game remaining in their 2023/24 campaign with a trip to Sheffield United on Sunday.
Defeat to Manchester City now means Tottenham can only finish as high as fifth and will either need at least a point from Bramall Lane or Bournemouth to get a result against Chelsea.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium provided a strange atmosphere on Tuesday night with the Spurs boss left furious after full-time.
Postecoglou vented his anger in his post-match interviews as he aimed some of his anger towards the attitude of the fans who wanted to see Spurs lose.
Ahead of the trip to Sheffield on the weekend, vice-captain Cristian Romero has now demanded everyone at the club to come together after a difficult few weeks.

Cristian Romero shares Tottenham message ahead of Sheffield United
In what has very much been a turbulent campaign for the Lilywhites, Romero has remained what of the consistently brilliant performers.
His centre-back teammate Micky van de Ven picked up the Player of the Season award last weekend but the pair have formed a sensational partnership.
Over the summer, the Argentine was handed the responsibility of being named the vice-captain behind Heung-min Son.
It is a decision from Postecoglou which seems to have massively developed the centre-back whose discipline has dramatically improved this season.

And it seems the 26-year-old is now trying to bring everyone back together with Europa League still to play for this weekend.
Taking to X, the Argentine shared an encouraging message to the fans with fifth place not quite secured just yet.
“Our last home game. Thank you fans all for the incredible support and all the love. We will work to finish the season in the best way and we will come back stronger next time, all together in the same direction,” he said.
Cristian Romero is showing just why he should be Tottenham captain
Although Son may well provide the goods going forward, there certainly has to be a claim for Romero being the main captain at Spurs.
The Argentine has been absolutely sensational this season having formed one of the league’s best partnerships with Van de Ven.
Perhaps it is playing alongside another top class defender which has benefitted him this season, but Romero looks like the complete defender this term.
