Tottenham Hotspur played out a disappointing 2-2 draw with Roma in Thursday’s Europa League encounter in North London.
Spurs twice took the lead in an enthralling clash but were twice pegged back by the Italian side, with their final equaliser coming deep into stoppage time.
Son Heung-min opened the scoring for Tottenham from the penalty spot before Evan Ndicka equalised for the visitors midway through the first half.
The Lilywhites retook the lead on 33 minutes as Dejan Kulusevski crossed for Brennan Johnson for a goal that reminded some fans of Raheem Sterling.
However, Roma went on to claim a point in the second minute of stoppage time as the unmarked Mats Hummels poked home from three years out.
Claudio Ranieri spoke to Italian media after the game and shared what he found “incredible” about Tottenham that he mentioned to Ange Postecoglou.

Claudio Ranieri complimented Ange Postecoglou on ‘incredible’ Tottenham speedsters
Ranieri, speaking to Sky Italia, said Spurs have some “incredible speedsters” and that he made this known to Postecoglou after the match.
“I asked the team (Roma) to use all their resources,” said Ranieri.
“Tottenham have incredible sprinters, I complimented Postecoglou, we often surprised them, we were a bit imprecise in our crosses until we succeeded.”
Ranieri also told Postecoglou he has ‘fantastic’ team
Ranieri also spoke to TNT Sports after the game, where he went into more detail about what he told the Spurs boss.
“I said to Postecoglou that he has a fantastic team,” said the former Leicester City boss. “I love his football, always tries to win.”
Tottenham are next in action on Sunday when they face Fulham in the Premier League.
Speaking at his pre-match presser, Ange Postecoglou said Cristian Romero is “unlikely” to return for the match, but hasn’t ruled him out completely.
