Tim Sherwood was linked with being placed as the interim head coach when Igor Tudor left Tottenham in March.
The former Spurs boss was considered, along with the likes of Ryan Mason, Harry Redknapp and Robbie Keane, as stop-gap options until the summer.

👀 What immediate changes need to be made…
Ultimately, Johan Lange opted to pay the money Roberto De Zerbi wanted to get his man, and with Tottenham securing survival, the boss has already won the fans over.
Now, Sherwood has been discussing the summer transfer window for Spurs and some bizarre comments have proven Lange right not to stick him in temporary charge.

Tim Sherwood backs two players to leave Tottenham
Sherwood is often on hand to give an opinion on Tottenham to Sky Sports, and his latest one is arguably more bizarre than ever.
He’s claimed that Tottenham should sell both James Maddison and Xavi Simons this summer, citing that neither player is dependable.
Maddison has only just returned from a serious knee injury, whilst Simons is unlikely to play again this year with a similar ACL problem.
He said on Sky Sports News: “I’m thinking, I’m not sure they’ve contributed enough but there is money to be got for these players.
“You can’t just keep buying players, you have to recoup some money in.
“It’s my personal opinion, James Maddison has had poor injuries, of course, he has, he has glimmers of very good play, but I’m not convinced.
“This boy Simons, if we’re talking about goals and assists, he was a shining light for 10 minutes in certain games, but he doesn’t do it on a regular basis.”
The notion of selling Maddison is ridiculous, but to be so derogatory towards Simons after suffering the injury he has is just out of order.
©️ With Cristain Romero set to leave… Who should become Spurs’ captain for next season?
👀 Maddison? Porro? Comment below…
For starters, there is no chance of Simons passing a medical at another club and given the effort he showcased this season, he deserves better.
As Sherwood says, this is just his opinion, but ultimately, it shows how out of touch he is with the Premier League in the modern era and proves Lange right to steer well clear of a desperate move to appoint him.
