Archie Gray has been asked about his thoughts on Ange Postecoglou playing him right-back instead of central midfield.

The 18-year-old has had to patiently wait for regular minutes following his move to Tottenham having made just three appearances in all competitions.

In the two games he has started, the former Leeds United man has played right-back, a position which he is familiar with from his time at Elland Road. Gray has now opened up on where he sees his favoured position.

Archie Gray happy to play in any position for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur’s Archie Gray has revealed he is happy to play wherever he is asked by Ange Postecoglou.

The teenager also claimed that Spurs’ players need to be versatile anyway given the way Postecoglou sets his team up.

Gray told BBC Sounds: “I’ve said the same thing every time, I honestly don’t care which position I play. You can stick me anywhere – but maybe not goalkeeper! I’d enjoy every position just because, like I said, I enjoy playing football and love every minute that I play.

“I think in the system we play you’ve almost got to play in loads of different positions and the way we play you’re almost always in different positions during the game, which the structure we create.

“You’ve always got the freedom to express yourself in a disciplined way and sometimes it does force you into different positions which is why everyone doesn’t really care what positions they are in, just as long as they can get the ball and enjoy the game.”

How will Tottenham line-up vs Ferencvarosi? Mikey Moore and Gray to start?

Postecoglou is likely to name a youthful line-up against Ferencvarosi with the teenage trio of Mikey Moore, Lucas Bergvall and Gray all to be given starts.

For Moore, this could finally be his chance to make his first senior start with both Son and Odobert injured. The 17-year-old impressed with the 15-minute cameo he was given against Manchester United after coming on to replace Timo Werner.

Ben Davies is expected to replace Micky van de Ven, whilst Romero will return to European action to replace the suspended Radu Dragusin.

Tottenham predicted line-up vs Ferencvarosi: Vicario; Udogie, Davies, Romero, Gray; Bissouma, Sarr, Bergvall; Moore, Johnson, Solanke.
