Ange Postecoglou has made twelve signings for Tottenham Hotspur during his time here so far. Here is how we rank them.

The Aussie manager has been a bit of a revelation at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He’s brought the good times back to Hotspur Way and has his first-team squad playing some seriously good football again.

A lot of this comes down to his signings, which so far have been pretty spot-on. So, with this – here is every single Postecoglou signing so far ranked on how they’ve got on.

It’s worth noting, that although Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro are technically Ange signings, we’re excluding them as they played for Spurs under Antonio Conte.

Alejo Veliz has featured numerous times, and the Argentine has shown glimpses of real danger but is yet to really make a name for himself in North London. Baby steps. Veliz will spend the 24/25 season on loan at Spanish side Espanyol.

11 – Archie Gray

Archie Gray joined Tottenham from Leeds United in July 2024, costing the Lilywhites a reported £25-£30 million fee with defender Joe Rodon heading the other way. He is yet to feature for Spurs, but looks set to have a bright career in North London.

10 – Lucas Bergvall

Much like Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall is expected to become a star at Spurs.

Joining from Swedish outfit Djurgårdens for £8.5m in July 2024, the youngster is expected to play a key part in Tottenham’s midfield for years to come.

9 – Ashley Phillips

Ashley Phillips hasn’t played for the first-team squad but impressed in the academy and on loan at Championship side Plymouth Argyle. One for the future.

8 – Manor Soloman

Manor Soloman joined on a free transfer after a spell at Fulham in which he scored five goals in 24 games. He featured a few times until he got injured. For a free transfer, not bad at all and he has yet to show what he’s really made of.

7 – Dominic Solanke

Joining from fellow Premier League outfit Bournemouth for £65m, Solanke was brought in to fill the goal void left by Harry Kane in 2023. The former Cherries man will battle it out with Richarlison for the number nine slot.

6 – Radu Dragusin

Radu Dragusin was signed by Postecoglou in January 2024. Spurs reached a ‘full agreement’ with Genoa to sign Dragusin for a fee worth around £21 million plus add-ons. He has impressed during limited minutes so far.

5 – Timo Werner

Returning to the club on loan this summer, Timo Werner impressed in the later stages of 23/24. Heading into the new season, the German will be hoping to build upon his tally of two goals and three assists last term.

4 – Brennan Johnson

Brennan Johnson comes in at fourth. Tottenham signed Johnson from Nottingham Forest in a £47.5m deal on Deadline Day and he’s been an overall success. He has glimpses of brilliance but just needs consistency to climb higher up the list.

3 – Micky van de Ven

The towering Dutchman is quite brilliant. Micky van de Ven was an inspired pickup. He was a huge catalyst for Tottenham’s unbeaten start to the season, and if he’d stayed fit he’d surely be higher.

2 – Guglielmo Vicario

The Italian arrived from Empoli in a deal worth an initial £17.2m, which remarkably was unchallenged. He’s already paid back ten-fold. He’s arguably been the best keeper in the Premier League this season. He just misses out, as we can’t fault number one.

1 – James Maddison

James Maddison when fit has potentially been the best player in the Premier League this season, and was an integral part of Tottenham’s early success.

He is Ange Postecoglou’s best signing as Tottenham Hotspur manager so far.
