Ange Postecoglou has admitted one of his players is playing through injury, but will still feature against Luton Town.
The Lilywhites have been hit with a number of injury issues over the course of the 2023/24 campaign.
And it seems those issues are still coming in with both Micky van de Ven and Richarlison both struggling with recent issues.
But there is another player who Ange Postecoglou has claimed is fighting through injury at the moment ahead of the game against the Hatters.
What Ange Postecoglou said about Rodrigo Bentancur
The Uruguayan has not had an easy last 12 months when it comes to injury problems having been sidelined with an ACL and ankle ligament injury.
And to add to his recovery, which he has already described as “tough”, the midfielder has been playing with a broken toe.
Bentancur has still remained a part of Postecoglou’s squad, however, he has not started either of the last two outings in the Premier League.
Ahead of the game on Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Postecoglou has provided an insight on Rodrigo Bentancur’s issue.
He said: “Yeah, broken small toe. He has got nine others. You know, I don’t think anyone could question Rodrigo’s courage with what he’s had to deal with recently.
“He didn’t want to stop playing, the medical advice was he could keep playing so he has still been training and playing. He hasn’t missed a session as far as I can see and I think it’s better now anyway so it’s all fine.”

What Bentancur said has impressed him about Postecoglou
After making a seriously good impression on the Spurs fans after arriving in January 2022 alongside Dejan Kulusevski, the last year has been extremely difficult for the midfielder.
Bentancur has spent a lot of that time in rehabilitation in recovery from his ACL injury picked up against Leicester City last year.
However, the 26-year-old has revealed Postecoglou has seriously impressed him with what he has done behind the scenes at Spurs.
He said: “He [Postecoglou] was always very attentive during my time out, checking how I was feeling on a physical and personal level.”
“He showed me his support and, once I was back, I could really see that the way of playing he has implemented is incredible. I think, as a team, we have shown that throughout the season.”
Most Spurs fans will by now know what to expect from Postecoglou as a person.
He has arrived in north London and provided the fans and player with a personality which is so much easier to rally behind than some of his predecessors.
Clearly, Bentancur is impressed with the way Postecoglou handled his individual injury situation.
And that will clearly has the Uruguayan ready to battle for his manager as he’s played through yet another injury.
Guglielmo Vicario has already hailed Bentancur “absolutely brilliant” and hopefully he will soon return to the levels Spurs fans have come to expect from him.
