Ange Postecoglou provides injury update on 2 key Spurs players ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou provided an injury update on Pape Sarr and Destiny Udogie after they were subbed off early in the Premier League win over Fulham.

Tottenham beat Fulham 2-0 on Monday night but the substitutions of Destiny Udogie and Pape Sarr in the second half would have caused some worry.

Ange Postecoglou has helped lead Tottenham to seven wins and two draws in their first nine games of the Premier League season and this sees them top of the division.

Up next is a tough away fixture against Crystal Palace. Spurs have no suspension worries for this match, but many will want to know the latest injury updates from the manager.

Ange Postecoglou injury update on Pape Sarr and Destiny Udogie

Like James Maddison, who picked up the player of the match award against Fulham, Sarr and Udogie have been key players this season. It would be worrying if they are unavailable for the London derby against Crystal Palace.

Sarr was subbed off just after the 60th minute against Fulham Speaking on Sarr, via the Evening Standard, Postecoglou said: “He is OK. He was not 100 per cent well going into the game, he had an illness the last couple of days. But he was keen to give everything to start and I had a feeling he would last 60 or 70 minutes. It is a short turnaround to Friday but I am pretty confident he will be OK.”

This is no doubt a positive update on the 21-year-old, who has been on top form this season for the club in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Udogie was subbed off just before the 60th minute due to injury. Speaking on Udogie via the Evening Standard. Postecoglou said: “He felt a bit of tightness. Again, when we got the second goal with the short turnaround, we thought it was wise to take him off. Again, I do not think it is anything significant.”

Udogie, who is only 20-years-old, has been praised on many occasions this season, with BBC pundit Matthew Upson calling him ‘superb‘. The £15million signing is good in both defence and attack.

Thankfully, despite the pair having minor concerns, it was a positive injury update by Postecoglou and it looks like both Udogie and Sarr will be able to feature on Friday night.
