The exit of Daniel Levy from the role of Chairman at Tottenham has sparked plenty of interest into what the future of the club will look like.

The decision for the Englishman to step down after 25 years of service to the club has divided the opinion of the fanbase, who certainly recognise how Levy has helped them establish themselves as one of the biggest clubs in world football.

However, there will be many who believe this can unlock a larger transfer kitty for Spurs to play with in the transfer window, even if the CEO has already reminded fans of the financial rules impacting them and the other Premier League sides.

The exit of Levy has seen talk crop up again of a potential takeover at Spurs, even if the board have made it clear that they are not currently for sale.

Amanda Staveley in ‘secret’ talks over Tottenham takeover

One of the interested parties is being fronted by Amanda Staveley, who was last seen in English football as part of the group who took over at Newcastle United.

Despite the strong stance, the I Paper have reported that Staveley is ready to step in should the reset under the current regime fail to deliver the desired results.

They went on to say that the groundwork is being done ‘in secret’ in order to get themselves in the best position to be in position to takeover succesfully, as part of PCP International Finance Limited.

Newcastle saw big money spent in a responsible way during Staveley’s era at Newcastle, with them now set up as regulars in European football.

What Premier League clubs thought of Tottenham with Levy

Other Premier League sides had become fed up of dealing with Levy and his fierce negotiation stance, and this had been hurting Spurs in the transfer market.

They looked to break a recent trend over the summer by signing Mohammed Kudus from West Ham, spending big money on a player from a Premier League rival.

Levy’s last transfer window will likely be thought of positively by fans, with it being capped off by the late signing of Xavi Simons.

He has set Thomas Frank up for a positive start to life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, however it remains to be seen if the Dane is about to see plenty more changes in the hierachy in the coming months.
