Andy Robertson is thought to be in advanced talks to sign for Tottenham after taking the decision to walk away from Liverpool in the summer.

Robertson is linked heavily with Tottenham, which is perhaps strange considering the North Londoners are still sweating over their status as a Premier League club.

The left-back is ending a long association with Liverpool, and after winning two Premier League titles and a Champions League crown, he’s keen to take on a new challenge.

Pundits have been discussing the Scotland star ahead of his next move being announced, with Ally McCoist weighing in on the discussion.

Ally McCoist thinks Andy Robertson could make Celtic move

Celtic would be a romantic move for Robertson, but he might wish to remain in the Premier League should Tottenham secure their place in next season’s competition.

McCoist thinks that Celtic might have the edge over Tottenham and has been discussing the possibility of him signing for the Hoops on TalkSPORT.

He said: “If you’re offering him the option of championship or Celtic, I think he’d probably take Celtic. But I still think the other teams in the top flight would take him in England.

“He’s been absolutely different class.

Robertson has been a bit of a modern-day legend at Liverpool and has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League era during his time at Anfield.

The experienced performer has made 374 appearances for the Reds during his time on Merseyside and whichever club gets him next will get a player with plenty left to offer.

Robertson would be a solid addition to the Tottenham ranks and given that he’s hardly had an injury during his time at Liverpool, he’d bring some much needed reliability to the Spurs ranks.
