Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is believed to be a huge fan for winger Brennan Johnson.

The Welshman played a huge role in Tottenham’s comeback win over Crystal Palace on the weekend.

And it is now said Ange Postecoglou is expecting the 22-year-old to have a bright future in north London.

Brennan Johnson transforms the game

Having gone behind on Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Postecoglou brought on Brennan Johnson to change the game.

That’s exactly what the 22-year-old did as he provided two assists as Spurs went on to put three beyond Sam Johnstone.

Heung-min Son came out after the game and said just how much he loves playing with Johnson.

And speaking on his YouTube channel, journalist Alasdair Gold has revealed just how highly Postecoglou rates Johnson.

He said: ‘I don’t know, in today’s world, the price tags of some of these players that are underperforming are huge. And I think you are paying for potential for the future as well with someone like Johnson. Postecoglou loves him. Postecolgou thinks he’s got such a bright future ahead of him. And you can see Sonny [Heung-min Son] loves him as well.’

How much Brennan Johnson cost

The youngster landed at Hotspur Way having signed a deal worth a whopping £47.5m to see him come across from Nottingham Forest.

An awful lot of pressure and expectation comes with any signing worth that sum of money.

So Johnson’s slow start to life at Spurs did bring some question marks from some people.

However, he is now beginning to look like a player who is settling into his new life at a different club.

In the Premier League alone, the Welshman has now been able to provide three goals and six assists.

What will now be interesting to see is whether he can uproot Dejan Kulusevski from his starting spot on the right wing this weekend.

The Swede has returned six goals and two assists in the league, but only one goal has come since mid-December.

A huge game awaits Spurs this weekend and it seems Postecoglou may have a huge decision to make at right-wing.
