Heung-min Son has lauded Brennan Johnson after a ‘fantastic’ cameo display for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Brennan Johnson came off the bench to make a huge impact for Tottenham as he entered the game while Ange Postecoglou’s men trailed 1-0.
Spurs had been pushing for an opener throughout the game, with Heung-min Son hitting the post and Timo Werner going close.
Johnson replaced Rodrigo Bentancur shortly after Eberechi Eze’s stunning free-kick and the 22-year-old grabbed two assists on the day.
His persistence down the right-hand side paid off as he set up Werner for the leveller before creating Tottenham’s third in the 88th minute.

Son praises ‘fantastic’ Johnson
Speaking to Spurs Play after the 3-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium yesterday, Son singled out Johnson for praise.
“Yes that’s what we need, especially the way we play,” the Spurs skipper said. “We want to play high, high intensity and especially who’s coming from the bench has to make an impact, like Brennan did today. Brennan did two amazing assists.
“I like this guy, I love this guy. And I just want to help him as much as I can. Even when we started the game, I just told him, just make sure you’re ready. You’re going to make the difference when you come on, so that’s what we need. Brennan did a fantastic job, and just wanted to give him a big hug.
“Goals, obviously, he’s missing, but I’m definitely sure that when he works for the team, and the way he works like this, the goals will come automatically. I’m 100 percent sure.”

Johnson has received his fair share of criticism during his debut campaign at Tottenham.
But the Welshman has impressed from the bench in recent weeks, having netted twice and provided as many assists in his last five games as a substitute.
While the jury is very much still out on Johnson, he’s shown glimpses of what he could offer once he’s adjusted to Postecoglou’s demands.
