Aaron Lennon has been speaking about the performances of Tottenham’s stars versus Brentford and he is certain one of their key men will be a major success in North London this year.
Spurs came from behind to defeat Brentford 3-1 and secure their second win of the season. Bryan Mbeumo gave the visitors the lead after just 26 seconds with Ange Postecoglou’s team looking set for a long afternoon.
However, Spurs’ response was emphatic and for the remainder of the game, it was just one-way traffic towards the Brentford goal. Goals from Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson and James Maddison secured the three points for the North London club.

Lennon believes Solanke will be a success for Tottenham
Lennon is confident that Solanke will be a major success at Tottenham and believes talk of him ‘not firing’ is way too harsh.
The striker netted his first goal for the Lilywhites against Brentford and the former Spurs star has backed him to score plenty more with players like Maddison, Son, Johnson and Kulusevski around him.
Speaking on TalkSport on September 23 at 9:26 am, Lennon said: “I think he will do well. I think there have been too many people on him saying, he is not scoring, he is not firing. He has come in, he picked up a knock after the first game. You have got to give him time to settle.
“Spurs need that number nine, they need that focal point, and they need him firing. I think he will do well. I think Solanke will score goals this season. I think with the supply he is going to get from Maddison, Son, Johnson, Kulusevski, whoever it may be, he will get chances.”
Solanke superb vs Brentford
Despite only netting his first goal on September 21, Solanke’s performances for Tottenham have still been good and he has offered the team a lot. The goal certainly helped boost his performance on the weekend, but that aside, the 27-year-old was still really impressive.
His all-round play was strong as he linked up well with Spurs’ other attackers and provided an outlet up top – something the team missed last year.
Hopefully, now he has his first goal for the North Londoners, he can kick on and hit the same heights he hit for Bournemouth last term. Son and Maddison have both backed Solanke to get a lot more goals after his first strike against the Bees.
