One of Tottenham’s exciting youngsters has been crowned as the Premier League’s quickest player in a list published by Sky Sports.

Micky van de Ven has been nothing short of a revelation in north London following his arrival in the summer from the Bundesliga.

And it has now been revealed by Sky Sports that he is statistically the league’s fastest player this season.

Micky van de Ven continues to impress

During Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football broadcast, a list of the league’s quickest players was shown with the Dutchman sitting top of the pile.

Impressively, the 22-year-old has been clocked running at a speed of 37.38 km/h [23.2 mph] this season, with his nearest rival, Chiedozie Ogbene, coming in at 36.93 km/h [22.9 mph].

Van de Ven was also able to pip Tottenham’s reported summer target Pedro Neto to the top spot.

Praise continues to roll in

This all comes following yet another impressive display from the summer signing on the weekend in the draw against Everton.

The Dutchman was signled out with praise by TNT Sports commentator Ally McCoist during the game at Goodison Park on the weekend.

He said: “He is lightning quick that fella because Calvert-Lewin can move as well. He loves a tackle as well doesn’t he look at that.”

Tottenham have only been able to keep one clean sheet in their last 14 Premier League games, despite finding themselves right amongst the top four race.

But playing alongside Cristian Romero, Spurs look like they have a solid centre-back parntership which could last for years to come.

The pair have also been handed some competition for their places with the addition of Radu Dragusin, which will surely excite the fans in N17.

Despite being forced to miss a number of months due to the hamstring injury picked up against Chelsea, it seems the centre-back is showing no signs of slowing down in his first season at Spurs.
