Tottenham Hotspur have now seen one of their loanees slammed for what he has shown since landing in January.

The north London club have sent out a number of players on loan this season in a bid for them to gain some first-team football.

Some of the loans are proving to work out for the better and some are turning out to be disasters.

What’s been said about Alejo Veliz

Young Argentine striker Alejo Veliz only made the move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer, but already finds himself out on loan.

He has made the move to Sevilla on a short-term loan basis until the end of the campaign.

It is a move which Spurs are all too familiar with having recently sent Bryan Gil back to his former side on loan.

The 20-year-old even revealed that Gil had influenced his decision to join the La Liga outfit in January.

But it is not a move which has worked out with Veliz having only played 23 minutes of football for Sevilla.

And the local press have latched on to this in slamming the move which was led by sporting director Victor Orta: ‘The other big victim of [Dodi] Lukebakio’s return has been Alejo Veliz , who was left out of the squad in the last game. Since his arrival, the Argentine has added 23 minutes in three moments.

‘On loan from Tottenham, the bet has turned out to be an absolute failure for Víctor Orta at the moment and of dubious value for the future, since no purchase option is stipulated in the operation.’

Which massive club showed interest in Veliz

The youngster made the move to join Ange Postecoglou’s side in the summer in a £12m deal with Rosario Central.

Having only played 42 minutes of football across numerous substitute appearances, Veliz was sent out on loan.

However, it has somehow worked out for the worse with the 20-year-old now not even making the Sevilla squad under Quique Sanchez Flores.

This is a far cry from the big future which his agent will have been painting out for him just months before he joined Tottenham.

It has been claimed by the striker that prior to his move to Spurs, his agent had informed him that Real Madrid were showing an interest.

What lies ahead for Veliz will be intriguing as The Spurs News have already been told that Richarlison’s future is up for debate ahead of the summer.

Spurs are seemingly looking for a new striker this summer, which makes it incredibly difficult to see where Veliz could potentially slot in.
