Tottenham Hotspur played out a 2-2 draw with Roma in Thursday’s Europa League clash in North London.
Spurs twice took the lead against the Serie A side and were 2-1 up going into injury time, only for a late Mats Hummels goal to break the hosts’ hearts.
Tottenham opened the scoring through Son Heung-min’s penalty after Hummels brought Pape Matar Sarr down in the Roma box.
However, the visitors drew level in the 20th minute as Evan Ndicka beat Fraser Forster following Paulo Dybala’s free-kick into the Spurs box.
Spurs then retook the lead on 33 minutes as Dejan Kulusevski crossed for Brennan Johnson to score a goal that reminded some fans of Raheem Sterling.

With the clock ticking, Roma continued to threaten and Tottenham eventually crumbled in the second minute of stoppage time.
Alexis Saelemaekers whipped a low cross into the box and Hummels was left unmarked to turn home from point-blank range.
It was certainly an eventful game, with three goals disallowed and a combined 42 shots, of which 19 were on target.
And according to Sky Sports News journalist Gary Cotterill, it was eventful in the Tottenham press box too.

Roma journalist asked to leave Tottenham press box after ‘some water went flying towards some Spurs fans’
Not long after Spurs retook the lead, Cotterill revealed that a Roma journalist was asked to leave after “some water went flying” towards some home fans.
“A bit of drama in the press box,” Cotterill said, as per the Sky Sports News website.
“A Roma reporter not happy with developments. Some water went flying towards some Spurs fans.
“Now the journalist has been asked to leave. No diluting the atmosphere here.”
Cotterill surprised by second-lowest Tottenham Hotspur Stadium attendance of season
At full time, Cotterill said it was an “amazing atmosphere” and was shocked by the fact it was the second-lowest attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“I must say, it’s been an amazing atmosphere,” he said. “Both sets of fans playing their part.
“Hard to believe it’s this season’s second lowest attendance here. 53,379 in the stadium. Only the Europa League tie against Qarabag attracted fewer.”
