The head coach replaced Igor Tudor, and he’s overseen a mini-revival that has ultimately led to Tottenham surviving the threat of relegation.

Tottenham will now believe that they have the right head coach to ensure this annual fight against relegation can become a thing of the past after two seasons of poor performances.
At the end of the game, De Zerbi almost did something that might have been frowned upon by supporters, but seemed to stop himself quickly.

When the full-time whistle blew at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the celebrations started, but there was to be no pitch invasion from the fan base.
De Zerbi is a passionate man and is renowned for wearing his heart on his sleeve when he’s on the touchline rooting for his team.
When Michael Oliver blew the whistle in North London, De Zerbi started to run onto the pitch, with the manager recognising straight away that this wasn’t an achievement to get carried away over.
James Maddison quite rightly said that this season has been nothing short of an embarrassment, and had De Zerbi milked the celebrations, it’s unlikely it would have gone down well.

De Zerbi does look like the head coach who can help Tottenham scale new highs again next season and the hope will be that the club can challenge for Europe again next season.
