Alan Shearer was left absolutely stunned by what he saw Heung-min Son do when Tottenham Hotspur hosted Luton Town and it was not his winning goal.

Once again, it was a slow start for Spurs in the first half which turned their afternoon into a real difficult task for Ange Postecoglou’s men.

Going into the game, fifth place Spurs had the opportunity to put things right after their dismal defeat against Fulham.

But what Heung-min Son did inside the first half left the Premier League’s record goalscorer absolutely amazed.

What Heung-min Son did to stun Alan Shearer

The South Korean captain went into the game having scored 14 times in the Premier League this season.

And he had a golden opportunity to make that 15 – which he did later – inside the first half when he rounded Thomas Kaminski in the Luton goal.

However, what he did next left Shearer amazed as he failed to score by somehow hitting both posts and seeing the ball trickle along the line.

To rub salt in the wound for Spurs, neither Timo Werner or Pape Matar Sarr were able to convert the follow-ups.

Speaking on Super Sport Premier League Live, the former Newcastle United man said: “Incredible. I mean first of all, Tottenham do really well. Poor from Luton – maybe over-confidence. But you’re thinking goal here when he [Son] goes past the goalkeeper. Post and then post again, maybe it’s going to be Luton’s day after that!”

Heung-min Son stats vs Luton

After a really slow start from the Lilywhites, Postecoglou’s side picked up the tempo in typical Spurs fashion.

It really has to be something which is concerning those in north London with Tottenham having now only scored in the first half in one of their last nine games.

Spurs are constantly leaving themselves with an uphill task to overcome in the second 45 minutes of games.

And this is putting a heavy reliance on the likes of Son to turn around their first half frailties with second half goals like he provided late on.

Here is a round-up of Son’s contributions against the Hatters on Saturday afternoon.

Big misses are beginning to really prove costly for Spurs with Timo Werner leaving journalist Alasdair Gold shocked by his miss against Fulham.

Had the £190k-per-week Spurs man put that chance to bed, it could well have made the afternoon a much easier and less stressful one for the fans watching.

However, Spurs fans were made to wait until the dying minutes of the game once again to celebrate the winning goal.

But three big points takes Spurs back into the top four for the time being.
