Tottenham claimed a morale-boosting win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Spurs were 2-0 up at the half-time interval thanks to goals from skipper Cristian Romero and striker Dominic Solanke.
Tottenham’s job was made easier when Daniel Svensson was sent off before half-time for a very poor challenge on Wilson Odobert, which saw his on-field yellow upgraded to a red by VAR.
It’s been claimed that Thomas Frank is still going to be sacked by Tottenham, but after this win, it remains to be seen whether the reports are accurate.

There were a number of top performers from the Tottenham team during this big win over the Bundesliga giants, and it was hard to pick out a Man of the Match.
However, Ally McCoist lauded one star player who really looked like he was enjoying himself during this comfortable victory.

Ally McCoist raves about Tottenham star Xavi Simons
McCoist is one of the voices of the Champions League coverage on TNT Sports and he was once again on co-commentary duty for the Tottenham game against Dortmund.
He was discussing the first half prior to the interval and picked out Simons for his brilliance during a 45-minute period of total dominance for the Premier League outfit.
He said live on TNT Sports: “Xavi Simons has been absolutely terrific. Sometimes you look at players and you can see they’re really enjoying themselves. That’s what’s happening with Simons.”
Simons cost Tottenham £52 million from RB Leipzig in the summer, with the Londoners choosing to bring him to the club once deals for Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze fell through.

Simons led by example during Tottenham win
The Dutch performer has been a bit of a slow burner at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, scoring three goals and claiming five assists from his 25 outings for Spurs.
Simons was superb against Dortmund, however, leading by example in a starting eleven that proved full of youngsters, with Micky van de Ven and Rodrigo Bentancur missing for this one.
This was a performance that showcased exactly how much potential Simons has and on the night, he was perhaps unfortunate not to get himself a goal to his name.
Spurs need this level of energy from Simons in the Premier League now, but this was a performance that showcased exactly what the international performer is capable of.
