‘We’ll see what happens in the summer’: £39m Tottenham target responds to talk over his future

Tottenham Hotspur target Jean-Clair Todibo has recently opened up about what could be in store for him in the summer transfer window.

There have been a lot of ins and outs at Hotspur Way following the appointment of Ange Postecoglou last year and there are no signs of that stopping in the summer.

And it seems one player who has been linked with a potential move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has now discussed what could lie ahead for him in the coming months.

Todibo opens door to summer transfer

According to GFFN, the OGC Nice defender is a player who has been on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs.

We are credited with an interest alongside the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Although there was speculation surrounding the centre-back’s future in the January window, he remained with the Ligue 1 side who continue to push for Champions League football.

But he has recently spoken about those links ahead of the summer market: “It’s always like that. During winter there are requests. I’m very calm about it all. I am at Nice and we’re having a great season. I don’t have my head elsewhere; if I did it would be difficult for me personally and for the group too. I’m at Nice, I feel really good. We’ll see what happens in the summer but we’re not there yet,” Todibo said.

Todibo price tag already set

The French defender is enjoying an encouraging season with Nice who are impressing in the French league as they aim for a second-place finish behind the runaway leaders, Paris Saint-Germain.

Having joined Nice from Barcelona back in 2021, Todibo has found his feet in his homeland and established himself as a key figure in the Nice side.

He has made 16 appearances this season in Ligue 1 with the French outfit having kept a staggering 11 clean sheets in those games.

As a result, Todibo has had a £39m price tag set on him by the club who will be keen to keep the defender at the club following his solid performances.

Competition in the Tottenham defence is already becoming fierce with the trio of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin at Postecoglou’s disposal.

Another big name could potentially leave the Australian with too many top quality players to choose from.

And with the youngster Ashley Phillips impressing out on loan at Plymouth Argyle, perhaps this could be one big player too many?
