Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil is hoping to leave this summer after a dismal season for the Spaniard.

The Lilywhites are enjoying an impressive season under Ange Postecoglou as they target a top four finish.

But one player who is not enjoying his football under the Australian is winger Bryan Gil.

Bryan Gil wants to leave Tottenham

According to Estadio Deportivo, the 23-year-old is now looking to leave Tottenham permanently in the summer.

It is claimed Postecoglou does not trust the Spaniard enough to play him in the Premier League

The report suggests Gil is dreaming of a return to La Liga with Sevilla, but Real Sociedad are also monitoring his situation.

Gil still has two years remaining on his contract at Spurs, but he is clearly a player not in the club’s plans.

Bryan Gil goals for Tottenham

It really has been a waste of a season for the 23-year-old who has played just 189 minutes of Premier League football so far.

He simply has not been able to provide any real reason to be involved during his time in north London with his search for a goal still ongoing after 42 appearances.

That is not to say he has not received praise from some of his Tottenham teammates.

Dejan Kulusevski has told NBC Sports of his admiration for the Spaniard. He said: “We have many injuries but we have depth also. You see the players coming in today, they all did very good, we have top players.

“I like Bryan a lot too, who comes in. We changed and it’s good that the coach also makes changes.”

But it seems like he will no longer be part of the plans for Postecoglou.

Timo Werner joined the Lilywhites in January and the likes of Brennan Johnson and Kulusevski are providing serious competition for places on the wings.

Spurs invested £21.6m and Erik Lamela back in 2021, however, it is a move which will not be looked back on fondly by the Spurs board.
