Tottenham Hotspur are now showing an interest in a midfielder who James Maddison absolutely adores.

A big summer is approaching for Tottenham who are looking likely to require a number of additions to bolster their squad for European football.

The appointment of Ange Postecoglou last summer has seen Spurs bring in a number of new players to Hotspur Way.

One of those players to arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the summer was James Maddison who has been something of a revelation so far.

He may have had some issues finding his best form since returning from injury, but he is a player who Alan Brazil has recently said is Tottenham’s best player.

Spurs signed Maddison for a fee in the region of £40m in the summer after seeing Leicester City relegated to the Championship.

And it seems as if the Foxes could be forced to sell more of their stars in the summer after recently announcing losses of £90m.

With a good relationship between the clubs following the signing of Maddison and the sale of Harry Winks, Spurs may look at potential options at the King Power Stadium.

Tottenham eyeing another player from a club with financial worries

Spurs released their financial report for the year ending 30 June 2023 on Wednesday and there were some eye-opening inclusions.

Tottenham fans will have noticed that Daniel Levy awarded himself with a sizeable bonus as well as a £300k salary increase.

However, the club were able to produce a staggering revenue stream of over £500m which was the first time they’d ever done so.

And that puts them in a solid position when it comes to the current fears across the Premier League with the FFP regulations.

But one club which can not say the same is Leicester who now face the prospect of offloading even more of their star players this summer.

And according to TalkSPORT, Tottenham have already earmarked Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as a potential option to add to their midfield.

The 25-year-old currently has three years remaining on his deal with the Foxes who are said to value him at around £45m.

James Maddison could reunite with his former midfield partner

Both Maddison and Dewsbury-Hall spent a number of years together at Leicester before Maddison made the move to north London.

In the Championship, Dewsbury-Hall has shown he is far too good for that level having returned an impressive 11 goals and 13 assists in the league alone.

And it is apparent Maddison has been closely watching Dewsbury-Hall’s performances this season having commented on one of his Instagram posts earlier in the season.

After the midfielder scored a brace against Coventry City, Maddison said: “Brilliant brother.”

Clearly, the 25-year-old is too good for the Championship, but £45m is a lot of money for a player who returned just four goal contributions in the top flight last season.
