Tottenham now ready to sign £25.5m teenager Jose Mourinho rates really highly

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be ready to sign yet another player from Serie A ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Italian market has proven to be one which Spurs have enjoyed a lot of success from over the last few years.

And they are showing no signs of stopping with a reported interest in the 18-year-old centre-back Dean Huijsen.

According to a report from Tuttojuve, we are one of the clubs who are showing a keen interest in bringing in the Dutch youngster.

He is said to be valued in the €30m (£25.5m) by Juventus with Manchester United also credited with an interest.

The 18-year-old is currently spending his season out on loan with Roma where he has been able to pick up six appearances in Serie A.

And in his last outing for the Italian outfit, Huijsen was even able to find the back of the net in his 35-minute display against Cagliari Calcio.

His former manager, Jose Mourinho, has already sung the praises of the young prospect from their time together at Roma:  “I think of Huijsen that we all know who he is, he is an 18-year-old boy who has played 10 minutes in Serie A, but he is one of the highest quality prospects in European football at this age level. He will be a great footballer in the future,” he said.

We have already seen suggestions that Dejan Kulusevski was a big part of Tottenham’s pitch to see Lucas Bergvall join the club over the winter market.

So perhaps Micky van de Ven could provide Spurs with the edge over the likes of Manchester United in the pursuit of this young talent.

The 22-year-old Dutchman is earning a lot of praise at the moment having been recorded as the fastest player in Premier League history.

Perhaps there could be some words of persuasion from our centre-back to his compatriot if this is a move the club are seriously considering.

The signings of Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario have all shown the quality available on offer from Italy.

So maybe this is a player who could also follow in their footsteps.
