Journalist Rudy Galetti claims Tottenham Hotspur are now on the verge of signing Edmond Tapsoba from Bayer Leverkusen.
Galetti has been speaking to GiveMeSport about Tottenham’s interest in Tapsoba and he says Spurs are ‘really close’ to striking a deal for the 24-year-old.
Spurs have enjoyed a busy start to the summer transfer window as they have already moved to snap up James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario, from Leicester City and Empoli respectively.
After addressing two key areas in the squad, Tottenham are expected to shift their focus to signing a new centre-back over the coming weeks.
Of course, Manor Solomon is also edging towards a switch to North London. But Tottenham have identified the likes of Micky van de Ven, Tosin Adarabioyo and Edmond Tapsoba as they bid to shore up their defence.
And Galetti claims that Spurs are closing in on a deal to sign Tapsoba.

Tottenham close to signing Tapsoba
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Galetti states that Spurs are working on a deal to snap up Tapsoba, with a deal now ‘very close’.
“Tottenham, after the finalisation of the deals for Maddison and Vicario, are now working on Edmond Tapsoba,” the journalist said.
“The sensation is that Tottenham are really close to the signing of the centre-back from Bayer Leverkusen.”
Tapsoba has been hailed as an ‘exceptional’ passer of the ball on the Bundesliga’s official website, while being dominant in the air.
Spurs are lacking a touch of class at centre-back outside of Cristian Romero and the Argentine is crying out for a suitable partner.

The Spurs News View
It seems unlikely at this stage that Tottenham will move to bring in both Tapsoba and Van de Ven.
There’s no doubt that Postecoglou will need at least two new centre-backs during the summer window, so it would be frustrating if Spurs fail to push the boat out in the position.
Nevertheless, both Tapsoba and Van de Ven would represent significant upgrades on the current options at the club.
