Tottenham Hotspur are expected to launch a bid to sign Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo this week.

That’s according to Football.London, with the outlet providing an update on Tottenham’s search for a new centre-back.

It’s fair to say that many Spurs fans have grown frustrated with the club’s search for a new defensive partner for Cristian Romero over the past few weeks.

Tottenham have been heavily linked to a host of names, including Bundesliga duo Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven.

There has been no sign of a breakthrough for Spurs as of yet and the Premier League season kicks off in just nine days.

But a fresh report claims Tottenham are about to make their move to sign Tosin Adarabioyo.

Tottenham expected to bid for Adarabioyo

Football.London reports that Spurs are expected to make a bid to sign Adarabioyo this week.

Adarabioyo has also received interest from Monaco, but Tottenham are expected to launch a move over the coming days.

The outlet notes that the Fulham defender is said to be keen on a switch to North London this summer.

Adarabioyo has impressed for Fulham over the past couple of years and played a key role in helping them back into the Premier League.

Lauded as an ‘exceptional’ defender, the 25-year-old racked up a total of 41 appearances in all competitions last season.

The Englishman has just a year left on his current deal with the Cottagers and could be available on the cheap this summer.

Adarabioyo seems like a good fit for Postecoglou’s system given his pace and qualities on the ball.

But you have to wonder why it’s taken weeks for Spurs to table a bid for the Fulham defender.

It would have been ideal for Postecoglou to get at least one centre-back through the door before the pre-season tour, giving him more time to work with the new signing.
