Tottenham Hotspur’s search for Harry Kane’s long-term successor may still be underway with a Turkish striker said to be on their radar.

Spurs lost their record goalscorer in the summer but decided not to bring in a direct replacement following his switch to Bayern Munich.

However, it has now been suggested the Lilywhites are monitoring the 18-year-old prospect, Semih Kilicsoy.

Tottenham scouting Semih Kilicsoy

According to a report by Turkish outlet A Spor, Spurs are one of the ‘European giants’ to enter the picture for the Besiktas youngster.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are not the only Premier League side said to be interested in Kilicsoy with Aston Villa also credited with an interest.

But it seems there is also interest from further afield in Europe with the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt also named in the report.

Tottenham’s believed interest in the £21m-rated star has seen scouts from north London watch the striker in person this season, though.

Who is Semih Kilicsoy?

Richarlison has been in fine form of late having netted nine goals in his last eight Premier League games.

However, the Brazilian does not have much competition for the spot as the sole striker with Dane Scarlett now the only other option at the club following Alejo Veliz’s loan to Sevilla.

Of course, Heung-min Son can play through the middle, but the South Korean provides a real threat from out wide.

Kilicsoy is a striker who is showing a lot of promise over in Turkey having found the back of the net seven times in his 11 league appearances.

The 18-year-old has only recently entered the frame of the first team this season where he has made just eight starts in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Besiktas academy director Mehmet Eksi has even suggested the youngster has already been likened to a Manchester City: “Some compared him to [Sergio] Aguero. He also sees Aguero as his idol.”

Potentially Kilicsoy may be a player who could provide stronger competition for Tottenham’s Brazilian number nine.

But with high praise like that, perhaps he could end up developing into something special in the future.
