Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be prioritising a major attacking signing after completing the arrival of Archie Gray last week.

Ange Postecoglou has added another top young talent to his squad as Tottenham Hotspur continue to build for the future.

Lucas Bergvall was already on his way in to join the Tottenham ranks after agreeing to join from Djurgarden in February.

Tottenham have now added Archie Gray too, striking a deal to sign the Leeds United wonderkid last week.

Bergvall and Gray now join a strong base of talent at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the likes of Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie, Radu Dragusin, Pape Matar Sarr and Brennan Johnson.

Tottenham are still seeking new signings though and Postecoglou may be in a position to strengthen his attacking options.

Tottenham Hotspur’s valuation of Pedro Neto

Reports in recent days have suggested that Tottenham now want a new forward as the ‘next big transfer’ after signing Gray.

That left fans believing that a new centre forward would be arriving in North London.

There is though a real possibility that Postecoglou wants to add another winger instead and links to Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto just won’t go away.

Reports last week indicated that Tottenham were reconsidering a move to sign Wolves ace Neto having previously been concerned about his injuries.

Tottenham boss Postecoglou even talked up Neto on ITV during Euro 2024, praising him as a player who gave Spurs a real headache last season.

“Apart from his hamstring issues, he would have set the Premier League alight this year,” said Postecoglou. “Every time he played, he was a handful. When we played against him, he caused us all sorts of problems and he’ll be on some big clubs’ radars,” he added.

It’s clear that Postecoglou likes Neto and reports now suggest that Tottenham are ‘the most concrete suitor’ for the winger.

That is according to Give Me Sport, who claim that Wolves value Neto at a ‘minimum’ of £60million, but Tottenham only want to pay £45million.

A £15million gap must now be bridged if Tottenham are to strike a deal – unless Wolves will budge on the valuation of their injury-prone wide man.

Wolves expect Neto exit

Postecoglou is right; Neto would be one of the most in-demand players in the Premier League this summer if it wasn’t for injuries.

Sadly, Neto has suffered setback after setback in recent times and that has put many clubs off from making a move.

Still, The Athletic report that Wolves actually expect Neto to be moving on this summer.

Wolves have already sold defender Max Kilman to West Ham United and it’s suggested that Neto is expected to join him in leaving the club.

Gary O’Neil’s side are planning for life without Neto, seemingly expecting a deal to be done in the coming weeks.

Tottenham may well be viewed as favourites to land Neto, but it will all come down to a compromise over the fee involved.
