CBS journalist Ben Jacobs claims that Tottenham Hotspur have held internal discussions over signing Chelsea defender Levi Colwill.
Jacobs spoke on the Last Word On Spurs on Wednesday evening ahead of a busy summer transfer window at Tottenham.
Colwill has enjoyed an exceptional campaign with Brighton after making the switch to the Amex Stadium on a season-long loan spell last summer.
The 20-year-old was recently rewarded for his brilliant form as he earned a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
He’s set to return to Chelsea this summer and is attracting interest from the likes of Brighton and Liverpool.
And according to Jacobs, Spurs have also discussed the possibility of moving for Colwill. But Chelsea have no intention of selling the youngster this summer.

Tottenham have discussed Colwill
Jacobs says that while Tottenham are admirers of Colwill, they are fully aware that Chelsea want to keep hold of him beyond the summer.
“Look out for Premier League defenders, I would add another name even though I don’t think he’ll be gettable, Levi Colwill, Tottenham are one of the clubs in for Colwill,” he said.
“Just so I don’t get misquoted on this I mean they have discussed him internally and they have a high appreciation for the player, I don’t mean they have moved.
“The reason they haven’t moved is because, like Brighton, they’re getting the same indications out of Chelsea, which is that the player is not for sale.”

Colwill seems like the perfect option for Spurs on paper given his encouraging displays on the south coast this season.
At 20, he fits the profile of a typical Tottenham signing and appears to have a bright future ahead of him.

This is a move that would appear highly unlikely given Chelsea’s reluctance to sell Colwill.
Spurs and Chelsea notoriously don’t do business with each other, although that could change due to the Blues’ new owners.
Nevertheless, Spurs will be forced to look elsewhere and the defence should be a priority this summer.
